However, the twist in the tale comes in the form of an apology that the user sent some time later in the early hours of the morning.In the message, user @musicman53 slated him for his “privilege” and criticised Piers for flaunting his “gross lifestyle”.

However, in a surprise u-turn the man later said sorry, claiming that he had been under the influence when the DM was sent. As somewhat of a veteran of social media spats, Piers took the whole conversation in good humour and decided his followers should join in on the fun.
