Piers Morgan has confirmed his return date to Good Morning Britain after a burglary ruined his holiday in France. The TV newsman, 55, has been off air for most of the summer as he enjoyed a lavish break in the South of France with his wife Celia Walden and daughter Elise, eight.

He came home after a shocking break-in at the villa where they were staying, and Piers has told fans he's planning to be back at work on September 1.

After tweeting about Education Secretary Gavin Williamson, asking "Why haven’t you resigned?", a fan replied to him saying: "Piers we need you back to ask these questions.
