Piers Morgan has branded Hollywood actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard “self-obsessed whiny wastrels” amid their ongoing legal battle.

Johnny, 58, and Amber, 35, married in 2015 but just one year later, they split acrimoniously as Amber claimed Johnny had been violent towards her, filing for divorce and a temporary restraining order.

In the months that followed, the former couple engaged in a war of words via the press and when their divorce was finalised in 2017, Amber pledged to split her $7 million settlement payment between a children's hospital she was patron of and a domestic violence charity.

Amber later penned a Washington Post op-ed about experiencing domestic violence and while she didn't name the alleged perpetrator, Johnny launched a $50m libel lawsuit against her, claiming the article damaged his career and prevented him from getting roles.
