Michaela Zee Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan thinks Aaron Taylor-Johnson could easily portray the next 007. During an appearance on RTE Radio 1’s “The Ray D’Arcy Show,” Brosnan shared his thoughts on reports that Taylor-Johnson will be taking over the iconic role. “I think the man has the chops and the talent and the charisma to play Bond, very much so,” Brosnan said of Taylor-Johnson.

Brosnan starred as the British secret agent in four films between the ’90s and early 2000s, including “GoldenEye,” “Tomorrow Never Dies,” “The World Is Not Enough” and “Die Another Day.” On “The Ray D’Arcy Show,” Brosnan recalled working with Taylor-Johnson on the 2009 film “The Greatest,” which was produced by Brosnan’s company Irish DreamTime. “One of the first movies we made, one of the earliest movies, was ‘The Greatest,’ Brosnan said. “And he was the greatest in it.” “So, yes, I read the news about his possibilities of being a Bond, so I would definitely tip my hat to the fellow,” he added.

Taylor-Johnson has been considered a favorite to assume the role of 007 from Daniel Craig, with The Sun reporting on March 18 that he was officially offered the role and is expected to sign a contract soon.

Sources close to Taylor-Johnson, however, downplayed the report and said he has not been cast as Bond. In his Rolling Stone UK cover story, Taylor-Johnson refused to discuss his potential casting as Bond. “I can only really talk about the things I’m going to show and tell,” Taylor-Johnson said. “I don’t feel like I need to have a future drawn out for me.
