Unfortunately, if you were looking for an old fashioned period piece, then you may be let down. Netflix is set to give Jane Austen’s Persuasion a modern facelift.
When the news first broke in April, it was unsure if that meant it would be given the bright and brilliant 2020 Emma treatment — or if it will simply be set in the 21st century.
Thankfully, the first look shots of the film have confirmed it’s the former. Dakota Johnson, who rose to fame in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, has already been confirmed to star in the series.
