Officers believe the baby boy was just a few hours old when he was found by a dog walker in Kings Norton last Thursday (April 22).
Staff at the hospital he is being looked after at have named him George, as he was found the day before St George's Day, and police continue to search for his mum.
Police say George was clothed and wrapped in a blanket when he was found on a path at The Mounds, off Shannon Road, at around 5.40pm. "Baby George is healthy and doing well, but sadly we’ve still not been able to find his mother," a statement from West Midlands Police
