Phillip Schofield has appeared to have made a subtle dig towards his former co-star and best pal Holly Willoughby. The pair's professional and personal partnership has come to an end after Phillip's admission he had an affair with a young runner who worked on This Morning.

"When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not."It's been very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie."Fans following the ongoing scandal involving This Morning were quick to point out the contradiction in Phillip's statement to Holly's after bosses at ITV also confirmed they had investigated allegations of an affair between its lead presenter and a runner.Their conclusions said that they found the suggestion did not go more than 'rumours' after quizzing staff.Holly returned to her usual slot on the couch this week
