He messaged his once-close friend to apologise and ask for forgiveness, but she is yet to reply to the 61 year old presenter.
In an interview with The Sun, Phillip revealed that he has lost his "best friend" after he lied to her about the affair with a much younger colleague at This Morning.
He said that the pair have now broken all contact but revealed that it was Phillip's brother imprisonment for sexual offences involving a child that meant she distanced herself from the friendship.
