Phillip Schofield is 'keeping up a family tradition' as he breaks his social media silence following the death of his beloved mum.The former This Morning star, 62, shared the tragic news this week that his 'magnificent mum' Pat had passed away, and he has since been coming to terms with the loss.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, 16 October, for the first time since announcing his mum's death, Phillip shared a photo of a box of fish and chips while in the car.

It showed a drizzly day by the coast with views of the ocean and cliffs nearby as Phillip seemingly enjoyed the dish from the comfort of his car.

He added the caption: "Keeping up the family tradition. Flounders fish on the headland." The 62 year old is thought to be in Cornwall, where his mum lived, and which is where Phillip fled to escape the spotlight when his "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague emerged last year.
