Phillip Schofield paid tribute to Tom Parker as an “incredibly positive” person and an “inspiration” on This Morning on Thursday March 31.
The Wanted singer, passed away from terminal brain cancer on Wednesday 30 March at just 33 years old. As Phillip, 59 and his co-host Holly Willoughby discussed the news with Vanessa Feltz they paid tribute to the late singer.
Phillip described the event as “utterly heart-breaking” before commending Tom for being a “incredibly positive force.” The 59 year old said: “If there is any good to come out of anything like this, it’s the fact he was such an inspiration and such a positive force." The presenter added: “Tom was in The Wanted and he’s a friend of the show, but there are people up and down the country who are going through exactly the same thing." “It’s happening all the time, but we mention him as he was one of those people who was so incredibly positive.” Holly, 41, added: “It’s completely heart-breaking and you just look at his age, you know there’s no right time to go but 33, I mean so young.” Vanessa added that it was the “saddest of stories” and said that Tom was an “exemplary person".
