ITV's This Morning has removed Phillip Schofield from the show's opening credits following the presenter's sudden exit at the weekend.

After announcing his departure from This Morning just days ago, after 21 years at the helm, Phil was removed from the title credits for the first show since his announcement, which was hosted by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary.

The 30-second titles, which usually show Phil taking a selfie with fans in a café while Holly Willoughby walks through London, did not feature the presenter's names and simply advertised the guests to come interspersed between scenic shots of Television Centre.

After the pared-down credits, Alison and Dermot — who usually host the show on Fridays — opened the show with a brief tribute to Phil, with Dermot saying "a huge thank you" to the presenter for "what he's done to make this show a success over the last 21 years".
