Peter Kay has been compelled to speak out after he had to remove two disruptive fans from his recent gig, which turned a bit chaotic.
One fan, who later said he felt like a "terrorist", was escorted out for yelling "garlic bread", while another woman, likened by Kay to Lisa Riley, was also shown the door.The beloved comedian explained that he had "no choice" but to have security step in at Manchester's AO Arena due to "repeated disruptions" that made it "impossible to continue" with the show on Saturday.
Kay's decision sparked a debate online, with some rallying behind him and others criticising the Lisa Riley remark as "derogatory".This isn't the first time Kay has faced backlash for his humour.
A few years back, during a memorable TV show, one of his jokes led to nearly 200 official complaints to the BBC. The controversy arose from what was deemed an "offensive reference to breastfeeding and/or bias against breastfeeding" on an episode of Car Share, reports the Manchester Evening News.
