Peter Capaldi has compared Doctor Who to the set of a B-movie as the Scots actor lifted the lid on his stint on the show. The 63-year-old Glaswegian became the 12th incarnation of the time travelling doctor in 2013, and stayed in the role for four years.
But while Peter’s time as Doctor only feels like yesterday, it appears that the show operated on a similar shoestring budget to that of the first episodes of the 60s.
In a recent interview, he claimed that props would often be stuck together with duct tape and velcro. But he commended the team behind the hit BBC show for developing some “very special” ideas, despite the apparent stinginess.
