A sequel to the classic movie A Christmas Story is in the works and Peter Billingsley will reprise his role from the original film. Peter originated the role of Ralphie Parker in the 1983 movie when he was just 12 years old.
Now, at the age of 50, he’s set to play an adult version of Ralphie in the sequel! Click inside to learn more details about the film… The original film was set in 1940 and followed Ralphie, a nine-year-old boy who wanted a Red Ryder BB rifle for Christmas.
THR reports that the new film will “take place in the 1970s and sees an adult Ralphie return to his house on Cleveland Street to deliver his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had growing up.” The outlet reports that the “studio is hoping to recreate the same real-life tone of the first movie to show the now-father reconnect with childhood friends, reconcile the passing of his Old Man, and callbacks to the initial film.” Warner Bros.
and Legendary Pictures have teamed up to make the movie with Peter producing alongside his friend Vince Vaughn.
