Perthshire Rugby has paid a touching tribute to former president and club captain John Carswell after he passed away earlier this month.
Club legend John, who died on Saturday, April 18, played a massive role in the success of the club both on and off the pitch since the 1960s.He was educated at Strathallan where he developed his love for rugby and went on to study accountancy in Glasgow.He played two seasons for Glasgow University and two for West of Scotland.
After qualifying, he returned to Perthshire at the start of season 1966/67 along with his brother David where his outstanding talent and leadership skills came to the fore and he soon found himself as a mainstay in the team.
