The astonishing Christmas light display at 13 Beechgrove Place in Perth is back!Even bigger and better than last year, home-owners Alistair Smith and Grant MacDonald are inviting visitors to tour the colourful garden and house all decked out for Christmas.Their charity Christmas fundraiser is supporting Bone Cancer Research and Dravet Syndrome and they welcomed the first people through the gate on Friday. For the third year in a row they are opening up their garden to members of the public to enjoy their festive display whilst giving them the opportunity to donate to their chosen charities Bone Cancer Research UK through Liberty’s Legacy, raising money for research for a cure for Ewing Sarcoma and Dravet Syndrome UK.Alistair said: “In September 2021 we were saddened when our nephew Gavin Russell passed away aged 20 with Bone Cancer, specifically Ewing Sarcoma, which affects teenagers.“There is so much research needed into Bone Cancer and how it affects this age group, that a charity called Liberty’s Legacy was set up.

Liberty had Ewing Sarcoma and passed away just after her 14th birthday. Gavin’s wish was that money was raised for research, so we are delighted to support Bone Cancer Research again this year”Lorraine and Craig Russell, Gavin’s parents from Perth, said: “We are so proud of the local support and delighted with the funds raised in Gavin’s name.“This has already made a direct difference to research into Ewing Sarcoma.”Another charity cause is to benefit from the Beechgrove Place lights.Grant said: “Two years ago, our great niece Penney was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome, a rare and life-limiting complex form of epilepsy.“A seizure may happen at any time and the family needs to be ready to help.
