Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker has said that he still plans to go ahead with their upcoming live shows after fracturing his hip.The Australian musician and vocalist shared the news of his injury on Instagram, posting a series of pictures of him in hospital along with x-rays which show screws in his bones and post-surgery stitches.“Fractured my hip,” he began the post. “Tried to run a half marathon on what turned out to be an existing stress fracture.

Tame Impala have announced a 10th anniversary box set for their seminal second studio album, 2012’s ‘Lonerism’.The limited-edition box set, which is set to arrive on May 26, will include three vinyl records and a 24-page booklet. Among the bonus tracks featured will be unreleased demo versions of ‘Retina Show’ and ‘Sidetracked Soundtrack’, two songs from the ‘Lonerism’ sessions that didn’t make the final album.The reissue will also feature an entire vinyl side dedicated solely to “assorted sketches” from between 2010 and 2012.

Tame Impala have issued a warning about the light effects during their show after some audiences members suffered seizures during a gig in Aukland, New Zealand.The Australian psych-rock band band posted a note on their Instagram stories earlier today (October 16) warning any fans who are “susceptible” to “seizures” to take care during their shows because of the “intense” nature of the lighting effects.In a statement, the band said: “Hey guys, just a reminder that there are some quite intense visual moments in our show so please be careful if you think you might be sensitive to such things or susceptible to seizures.“Also if you see someone in trouble do the right thing by your fellow concert goer and help them/signal for help. We can usually get help there really quickly.

Tame Impala have shared a remix of Confidence Man’s single ‘Holiday’, dropping the track last week as part of the latter’s group’s just-released ‘RE-TILT’ EP.As implied by its title, the ‘RE-TILT’ package comprises remixes of songs that appeared on Confidence Man’s second album, ‘TILT’. It was released last Friday (September 30) via I OH YOU, and also includes a new take on ‘Holiday’ by Erol Alkan, a remix of ‘Angry Girl’ by CHAI, and other remixes from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, X-COAST, CC:CISCO! and Daniel Avery.In a press release, the duo said of Tame Impala’s ‘Holiday’ remix: “It’s not every day one of your heroes casually hits you up on Instagram, asking if they can remix your track.

Tame Impala kicked the month off with a headline set at the Desert Daze festival in Perris, California, where they celebrated 10 years of ‘Lonerism’ by performing it in full.The Australian psych-pop outfit released ‘Lonerism’ on October 5, 2012. It was the project’s second full-length effort, following 2010’s ‘Innerspeaker’, and sported four singles: ‘Apocalypse Dreams’, ‘Elephant’, ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’ and ‘Mind Mischief’.All of those songs received an emphatic reception at Desert Daze, as did some of the album’s lesser-played cuts.

Gorillaz headlined London’s All Points East last night (August 19) and debuted a new collaboration with Tame Impala and Bootie Brown – watch them play ‘New Gold’ below.The band played the Victoria Park festival to kick off the second part of their 2022 European tour, and were supported by IDLES, Turnstile, Yves Tumor, Self Esteem, Femi Kuti, Obongjayar, NewDad, Remi Wolf, Gabriels, Ibeyi, Nia Archives and Willow Kayne.During their headline set, they brought out a bounty of special guests including De La Soul, Happy Mondays‘ Shaun Ryder, Popcaan, Moonchild Sanelly and Mos Def.Half way through the set, they then debuted a brand new song called ‘New Gold’, featuring Tame Impala and Bootie Brown.

Tame Impala have covered The Strokes‘ 2001 hit ‘Last Nite’ during their headline set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, after the latter were unable to perform at the festival due to a band member testing positive for COVID-19.The cover was performed as the first song of the encore on Thursday night (June 2). Diana Ross and Tame Impala have shared their collaborative single ‘Turn Up The Sunshine’.The song, which you can listen to below, will appear on the soundtrack for the latest film in the Despicable Me franchise, Minions: The Rise Of Gru.It is the first single to be taken from the soundtrack and was co-written by Jack Antonoff, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, singer Sam Dew and Grammy-winning Swedish musician/producer Patrik Berger.The song, which is described as a “joyous,dance-inducing” number, begins with what sounds like the voices of young children repeating the titular phrase, before Ross takes on the lead vocals.The star-studded 19-song soundtrack album also features the likes of St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Brockhampton and Antonoff’s band Bleachers.
