While Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho) and Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun) started their alliance in order to take down Lee Rim (Lee Jung Jin), little did they know that their alliance will blossom into love. Yes, as both Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho) and Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun) investigate Lee Rim’s case, and spend time with each other, as fate had it, they start to develop feelings for each another. But what is interesting here is that while Lee Gon confessed the feelings from their first encounter, Jung Tae Eul didn’t realize her feelings for Lee Gon but sooner than later, once Jung realized the fact that she loves Lee, she goes ahead and expresses her love for him as she says, “I love you,” and what happens next is plain romance.

The popular South Korean television series The King: Eternal Monarch starring Lee Min Ho and Kim Go-Eun premiered in April and became one of the household shows in no time. The fantasy romance drama revolves around Lee Min Ho as Emperor Lee Gon, trying to close the doors to a parallel world which was opened by demons while Kim Go-Eun as detective Jung Tae Eul leaves no stone unturned to protect the people and the one she loves. Emperor Lee Gon's white horse Maximus also plays a pivotal role in the series.

The King: Eternal Monarch released its 5th and 6th episodes over the weekend. The two episodes unfolded several subplots. This included Jung Tae Eul riding her way into Lee Gon's universe on the white horse, roaming around the streets of Seoul in the Kingdom of Corea, a war between Corea and Japan, a glimpse at Lee Rim's plans and the romance between Gon and Tae Eul finally blooming. While there are several talking points, Twitter managed to point a reference and lost their minds over it. 

The King: Eternal Monarch has experienced a bumpy start. However, Lee Min-Ho starrer has fans looking forward to the fifth episode. The King: Eternal Monarch ended with Lee Gon scooping off detective Jung Tae Eul from the Republic of Korea and taking her to the parallel universe he comes from. The trailer of The King: Eternal Monarch episode 5 reveals there is drama waiting to happen. In the short glimpse, a possible kiss between Gon and Tae Eul is teased.

The fantasy romance drama draws a contrast between two parallel universes: one with a democracy that is similar to modern-day Korea and one that is an alternative universe which has Korea ruled by a monarch. It stars Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun as Emperor Lee Gon and detective Jung Tae Eul respectively and the two stars have recently opened up about their roles and more.

After a very successful premiere of The King: Eternal Monarch, Netflix has finally treated the fans to the trailer of the K-Drama’s third episode. In the first two episodes, the creators introduced us to the two universes -- The Kingdom of Corea and the Republic of Korea – and the lead characters of the show, Emperor Lee Gon (played by Lee Min Ho) and Police Detective Jung Tae-eul (played by kim Go Eun). After giving us the basic idea of the parallel worlds, the next episode will dive deeper into the plot.

Go Eun takes on the role of detective Jung Tae Eul. During the first episode, the show revealed Lee Gon was attacked as a child. 

It has been a fairly good year for K-Drama. After we were treated to Crash Landing On You and Itaewon Class, fans of South Korean drama shows will be presented The King: Eternal Monarch. The show starts this weekend. The SBS show is extra special for it sees Lee Min Ho return to acting after his military service. Legends of the Blue Sea actor stars opposite Kim Go Eun on the show. The plot twisted further when Woo Do Hwan's Captain Jo Yeong spots Prime Minister Goo Seo Ryung in the Republic of Korea, hinting that she has not only crossed paths with Lee Lim but has also considered joining his menacing plan. 

The cast of The King: Eternal Monarch came together for a game of Jenga with the team of Netflix. Lee Min Ho, Kim Go Eun, Woo Do Hwan, Jung Eun Chae, and Kim Kyung Nam try their best to keep the Jenga in place while answering numerous questions about themselves and the SBS drama they star in. While the gang had a ball filming the special segment, actors Min Ho and Do Hwan a few interesting insights into their lives. 

While Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun's chemistry in the spotlight of The King: Eternal Monarch, fans are enjoying Woo Do Hwan's bond with Min Ho and Go Eun off-screen as well. The actor plays dual roles in the show. In the Republic of Korea, the actor essays the role of Jo Eun-Sup, a happy-go-lucky public worker, who shares a little brother like relationship with Go Eun's Jung Tae Eul. Whereas in the Kingdom of Corea, the actor plays the chief royal guard Jo Yeong who protects Min Ho's Lee Gon.
