Franz Ferdinand have shared a second brand new track, ‘Curious’, from their forthcoming greatest hits album, ‘Hits To The Head’.After teasing their return back in early November, the Scottish indie veterans released ‘Billy Goodbye’, their first new track in three years – a raucous glam stomper that the band worked on with Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, Madonna, Pet Shop Boys).The only other new track on ‘Hits To The Head’ is ‘Curious’, which frontman Alex Kapranos called “quite a different-sounding song” when speaking to NME in a recent interview.“Sonically, it’s more at the silky dance floor end of what the band is about,” he explained. “That one’s about imagining yourself in a situation at the beginning of a romantic relationship, being part of the magical moments and suddenly being overwhelmed by the sense of what’s to come and wondering how you will be when repetition, routine and the everyday is what your relationship becomes.“Are you still going to love me when the magic has faded?”The track comes alongside a video that sees the band put on their dancing shoes.

Rina Sawayama has spoken about her second album, saying how she just wants “to write really big songs”In a new interview with Music Week, Sawayama has admitted she’s still trying to finish writing the followup to her 2020 self-titled debut but she’s working with “with some incredible people” including producers Paul Epworth and Stuart Price.“Most of the songs were started with me and Clarence Clarity, so it’s still got that core that ‘Sawayama’ had. I just want to write really big songs, songs that make me feel a certain way,” said Sawayama.“All these newcomers have been incredible.

The streamlined aesthetic of Dua Lipa’s new album, Future Nostalgia, gives throwback funk and disco a boldface-and-italic redesign. Touchstones of 1980s synth-pop and ’90s dance music meld together with the bright, rhythmic hits of the 2000s—songs that played on Top 40 during the day and again as club remixes during weekend late nights. Some of the spiritual connections are literal: Stuart Price, who co-produced three Future Nostalgia tracks, has also worked on albums by Madonna and Kylie Minogue, two stars whose influences loom large.

Dua Lipa and Madonna could on the cards after the Queen of Pop was reportedly asked if she’d be interested in a collaboration.In a new interview with Music Week, Lipa’s manager Ben Mawson revealed how the ’80s aesthetic of Dua’s ‘Future Nostalgia’ album was influenced by Madonna’s ‘Confessions on a Dancefloor’ – with both records featuring songs produced by Stuart Price.When asked if Dua could emulate Madonna, Mawson responded: “Well it depends what you mean.
