Watch the video below.The musician is set to play five headline shows this month after recently releasing two solo singles, ‘Romance With A Memory’ and ‘Fruit’, both of which were produced and co-written by his bandmate Jamie xx.Sim’s first gig will take place at Shoreditch Town Hall in London next Tuesday (May 10) ahead of further dates in Paris (11), Berlin (13), New York (15) and Los Angeles (17).

Jamie xx has announced his return this week with a new single.On Instagram, Jamie xx announced that he will return tomorrow (April 12) with new track, ‘Let’s Do It Again’.“I had a lot of fun trying this one out at festivals last year. You might recognise it…” he wrote on Instagram over the weekend.

The xx’s Oliver Sim has shared his debut solo single, ‘Romance With A Memory’ today (March 10) – listen to it below.Sim, who plays bass and is co-lead vocalist in The xx, also shared a new lyric video to accompany the track, which you can watch below.Speaking about the track, which was produced by bandmate Jamie xx, he said: “I’m thrilled, excited, ecstatic, over caffeinated and overjoyed to be sharing ‘Romance with a Memory’ with you all.“Terrifyingly, this is the first song I’ve ever released under my own name, I really hope you all enjoy it. Produced by my dear older brother Jamie xx.

The xx have shared a snippet of footage of them playing together in the studio.The short clip shows the band performing in a speeded up video, which you can view below.This is the first time the trio have been seen together in quite some time.

Romy has covered Corona’s ‘The Rhythm of the Night’ and Olive’s ‘You’re Not Alone’ for a special live session for Apple Music to celebrate Pride 2021.The xx guitarist and solo musician has mashed up the two tracks as part of a new three-song set for the streaming service which went online today (July 9).Romy said in an accompanying statement that both ‘The Rhythm of The Night’ and ‘You’re Not Alone’ “remind me of when I was about 17 and started going to Gay bars in London”.“The lyrics of ‘You’re Not Alone’ resonate with the feeling of community I found in those bars and clubs and the friends I made and treasure to this day,” she added. “I still love dancing to ‘The Rhythm of the Night’ and I’ve always loved the lyrics and melody.
