Everything Is Recorded have shared a new single featuring Florence Welch and Sampha – listen to ‘Never Felt Better’ below.The blissful track will appear on the third studio album from Everything Is Recorded – the collaborative music project of Richard Russell. Titled ‘Temporary’, the record is due for release this Friday (February 28) via XL (pre-order/pre-save here).‘Never Felt Better’ is described as a “transcendent, hymnal piece of music”, and is accompanied by an official music video by Kristian Mercado and Mela Murder.

The soul-imbued track comes with an Ed Morris-directed music video that sees the musicians perform in the back of a black cab while driving through London at night.

Richard Russell, have released the single ‘Cry Without End’.The song is the first track by the duo that has been made available on streaming services, following on from their vinyl-only 2023 singles ‘Hunger Hill Road / Ghosts Are Dancing’ and ‘Supplication / Headbouncing’. The track also features contributions from the Manchester composer and poet Alabaster DePlume.Morton’s fragile vocals are presented a cappella at first, before a gentle, ghostly arrangement and ethereal backing vocals seep into the track.

Samantha Morton is embarking on a foray into the world of music as she plans to release her debut album, the actress has revealed. The Oscar-nominated star - currently wowing US audiences with killer turns in Tales of the Walking Dead and The Serpent Queen - spoke about the intriguing new project in a recent interview with Vogue. It's unclear if Samantha, 45, will be singing on the record, though she previously showcased her impressive vocal talents performing the Gilbert O'Sullivan song Alone Again (Naturally) in the 1997 film Under the Skin. 'I've also just finished an album with Richard Russell,' the Minority Report star told the publication, referring to the XL Recordings boss, adding: 'So we're currently polishing and mastering that.

Ibeyi have released their BERWYN-featuring rework of Black Flag‘s punk anthem ‘Rise Above’, taken from their upcoming album ‘Spell 31’.Ibeyi – the twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Naomi Diaz – released their latest single from ‘Spell 31’ on Tuesday (April 26). It’s a complete reimagining of ‘Rise Above’ that retains only the lyrics of the original Black Flag song and features a rap verse from the Trinidad-born, Romford-raised BERWYN.Listen to Ibeyi and BERWYN’s take on ‘Rise Above’ below.Speaking to NME last month about ‘Spell 31’, Ibeyi revealed that they had never heard the original version of ‘Rise Above’ prior to putting their own spin on the track, only going off the lyrics that producer Richard Russell had shown them.“The reason why we don’t want to listen to [the original]… I feel like we’re super-protective of the lyrics, and we didn’t want to be influenced by [Black Flag’s] melodies,” Lisa-Kaindé explained.“When it gets into your brain, then suddenly you can’t create something new because it has become the norm… the seed in your head.” Ibeyi are set to release their third studio album ‘Spell 31’ on May 6 via XL Recordings.
