Saturday Night fans baffled over ITV contestant has same name as famous TV star
Saturday Night Takeaway fans were left dumbfounded as a contestant took to the stage to play Kiddie-oke and boasted the same name as Vicar of Dibley star Dawn French. The identical name caused quite a stir on the programme and online, with host Declan Donnelly, 46, jokingly asking the next player: "You're not Jennifer Saunders are you?"Fans of the ITV programme appeared to be even more baffled by the name coincidence and took to Twitter to comment. One person quipped: "Jennifer Saunders up next #SaturdayNightTakeaway," followed by laughing emojis.Another added: "I'll give Dawn credit there that was a hard song to sing #SaturdayNightTakeaway."A third said: "Yes, bring back French And Saunders on Saturday nights. #SaturdayNightTakeaway."While a fourth online user jibed: "Dawn French on #SaturdayNightTakeaway @Dawn_French."Dawn was hoping to be in with a chance of bagging the top prize of £500 as she attempted to guess the track. While the contestant who shared the same name with comedian and TV star Dawn French, seemed to know the words to the song, she failed to recall the title which was Summer Of 69.Another hilarious and unplanned moment arose during the game when Claire stepped up to the microphone.Rather than saying her name when asked by host's Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, she instead announced where she was from.
