Even though we were right in the heart of Beverly Hills for last night’s American Cinematheque Awards tribute to Ryan Reynolds, you would be forgiven if you thought somehow you had been transported from the Beverly Hilton International Ballroom and landed in Canada. Judging from these proceedings Reynolds just may be the hottest import ever to come across the border.

“The Rookie: Feds,” and the ABC dramedy, starring Niecy Nash-Betts, has the right stuff to stick around for a while.Nash-Betts (“Reno 911!,” “Claws”) is no stranger to the small screen — or to viewers of “The Rookie,” on which Nash-Betts’ ever-optimistic “Feds” protagonist, Simone Clark, was introduced last season in a two-part episode of the Nathan Fillion series — aka a “backdoor pilot” (read: good chance for a spinoff). Nash-Betts, who knows what she’s doing, adds splashes of quirkiness and humor to Simone, the oldest rookie in the FBI Academy.

BBC 2, Rock Hudson stars in Ice Station Zebra. Tyler, the Creator will guest star on Big Mouth, with the rapper set to voice a character in an episode of the series’ sixth season when it premieres later this month.Along with Tyler, other guests who will voice characters on season six of the animated Netflix show include Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine, Jeff Goldblum, Peter Capaldi, Steve-O, Amber Ruffin, Chris O’Dowd and Annaleigh Ashford.Regular voice cast members like Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen and Jordan Peele will also be returning, with the likes of Ali Wong, Chelsea Peretti, Natasha Lyonne, Nathan Fillion, Kristen Schaal and Jenny Slate all appearing too.According to a Netflix synopsis, Big Mouth season six will focus on “the theme of family as the beloved characters continue each of their journeys, discovering that while you can’t always pick your family, you can surround yourself with those that love you for who you are”. A trailer for the upcoming instalment was released yesterday (October 3).
