An NHS trust that jurors felt 'probably contributed' to Ryan Lowry's death through a series of failings has issued an apology following his inquest. Members of the jury ruled yesterday (March 19) that Mr Lowry, from Marple, was 'unlawfully killed' by his cousin Ashley Glennon, who had been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia.

The family of a man killed by his cousin - who was suffering with severe mental ill-health - want answers over the axe attacker's care prior to the tragedy. Ryan Lowry's loved ones there were 'collective failings' and a 'complete lack of joined-up thinking between agencies' in the 'care and supervision' of Ashley Rowen.

Road improvements scheduled to take place over the next 12 months across the borough of Trafford have begun. Some 192 road repair and improvement schemes kicked off in late July with "surface dressing treatments" on Chester Road A5104 in Old Trafford and Woodhouse Lane in Sale.
