Met Office issue update on exactly when this weekend's 18C mini heatwave will end
Met Office has issued an update revealing exactly when this weekend's mini heatwave will end.The national forecaster has said that this weekend could bring the UK's hottest day of the year, with highs between 18C to 20C expected.A huge high pressure system is set to bring a blast of North African air, which should mean conditions are very inviting today.Met Office meteorologist Clare Nasir has said: "Generally the weekend is looking fine and dry, much warmer with some sunshine."High pressure reaching across Denmark will allow for settled conditions to extend right across the UK, but some stronger winds on Saturday certainly."Gusts over the hills and moors as well as the mountains but with a southerly wind it will feel very warm across some parts, particularly I would say the Moray Firth where we could see an 18C." Unfortunately - as with all good weather in this country - this can't last forever and soon we'll be back to normal. According to the Met Office's outlook from Saturday to Monday, Sunday will be when things start to turn sour.
