Incredible images of the last Supermoon of 2022 have been captured overnight. The rare lunar phenomenon occurs when there is a full moon while it is also at its closest point to the Earth in its orbit.

The moon passes through 12 cycles throughout the year, one of which is the Sturgeon Moon in August. Tonight’s full moon will also be a supermoon, a bigger and brighter moon that is visually stunning.
