Laurence Fox's Twitter ban explained as Lewis is back on TV
ITV detective drama Lewis, the Inspector Morse spin-off, is back on our screens.Set in Oxford, the series stars Kevin Whately as Robert "Robbie" Lewis and Laurence Fox as DS James Hathaway.You can catch a run on ITV3 at 8pm tonight (August 10), or all nine series are available on ITV hub.Fox is perhaps best known as an actor for his role as Lewis' sidekick, but even those who haven't seen the show might recognise him – the controversial activist is leader of the right-wing Reclaim Party.The former musician was also a 2021 London mayor candidate, attracting less than 2% of the vote and losing his deposit after standing in opposition to what he saw as "extreme" political correctness.Fox has courted his share of controversy, too, with his provocative views around political correctness and "woke culture", Covid-19 and racial issues, among other topics.Fox was temporarily banned from Twitter in June.His account was suspended for a day after tweeting an image of a swastika made from LBTQ+ symbol the Progress Pride flag.It included the comment: "You can openly call the [Union Jack] a symbol of facism (sic) and totalitarianism on Twatter.
