Adapted from James McBride’s 2013 National Book Award-winning novel of the same name, about a young slave (Henry “Onion” Shackleford, played by Joshua Caleb Johnson) who joins Brown in his mission, the limited series, produced by Blumhouse Television, debuts on Showtime on Oct.
