The 1975 have announced that their self-titled debut album will be reissued on vinyl for its 10th anniversary, as well as confirming the sale of accompanying merch bundles.The new formats will be available to purchase from September 1, alongside a range of new and classic merch.The band’s debut album will be available on various new limited edition formats, including a 4LP deluxe vinyl release containing ‘The 1975′ plus their early EPs ‘Facedown’, ‘Sex’, ‘Music For Cars’ and ‘IV’ EP, plus a solid white vinyl release in gatefold sleeve, a limited edition white cassette and 2CD set containing the original album and a live album of ‘The 1975’ played in full at Gorilla in Manchester, at a show earlier this year.Released on September 1, 2013, The 1975’s self-titled album featured songs including ‘Chocolate’, ‘Sex’, ‘Girls’ and ‘Robbers’ and topped the charts on its release.A post shared by The1975 (@the1975)The band will be performing the album in full when they headline Reading and Leeds later this month. The Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle has announced his third novel, titled Devil House, will arrive in January 2022.According to a synopsis, the book follows a true crime writer named Gage Chandler who is offered a chance to move into what the locals call “The Devil House”, in which a briefly notorious pair of murders once occurred.“He begins his research with diligence and enthusiasm, but soon the story leads him into a puzzle he never expected – back into his own work and what it means, back to the very core of what he does and who he is,” the synopsis continues.See the book’s front cover below:A post shared by the Mountain Goats (@mountaingoatsmusic)Darnielle has released two other novels.

As teased, the Mountain Goats have released a new album via Merge. This one’s called Songs for Pierre Chuvin. According to a press release, it’s the first time since 2002’s All Hail West Texas that John Darnielle has recorded an album entirely on his boombox. The Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle has been announced as a judge for this year’s National Book Awards, working in the Literature in Translation category. He also shared a new cassette, Songs for Pierre Chuvin. Darnielle posted a cryptic message to Instagram with instructions to text “Cassette” to 31996 for updates on the 10-track tape’s release.
