Mel B has opened up about her relationship with her eldest daughter Phoenix, saying they have a close bond and “have a laugh together, and discuss anything we want to discuss with full openness.” Speaking to The Mirror, the 48-year-old said: "Phoenix is always my daughter. We get on really well and we can have fun together, have a laugh together, and discuss anything we want to discuss with full openness but she is always my daughter.” Mel continued to gush about her daughter, who she shares with her first husband, dancer Jimmy Gulzar, telling the publication that she is “incredibly proud of her.” The Spice Girls singer said that the 24-year-old had been a “massive encouragement” to her as she wrote her memoir, Brutally Honest, about the abuse she alleges she suffered at the hands of her second husband Stephen Belafonte – which he vehemently denies – and her wider support of women’s charities.
