Echo and The Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch has sung at Happy Mondays’ Paul Ryder’s funeral.Ryder, who was the bassist of the Happy Mondays and brother of frontman Shaun, died last month at the age of 58.Posting the news on social media, the band wrote: “The Ryder family and Happy Mondays band members are deeply saddened and shocked to say that Paul Ryder passed away this morning. A true pioneer and legend. He will be forever missed.”Alan McGee, who was in attendance at the service, described it as an “amazing send off” and recalled how he spoke at the beginning of the funeral, which took place in Manchester yesterday (August 4).

Some of the biggest names in Manchester’s music scene were amongst those in attendance at the funeral of Happy Mondays ’ guitarist Paul Ryder today.

The Rolling Stones have confirmed that Sam Fender, Phoebe Bridgers, The War On Drugs and Courtney Barnett will support the band at their BST Hyde Park shows.The band will be performing two concerts in London in the summer as part of their 60th anniversary tour.The Stones have announced The War On Drugs and Bridgers will support them on June 25, while Fender and Barnett will appear on July 3.Following on from their acclaimed USA ‘No Filter’ tour, their latest jaunt will see Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood make their long-awaited return to the UK, also performing at the home of Liverpool FC – Anfield, for the Stones’ first in Liverpool show for over 50 years.Echo And The Bunnymen will provide support for that concert. The band will be joined by drummer Steve Jordan at all shows, following the sad death of Charlie Watts last year.“Two dreams in one – there’s nothing like The Rolling Stones, and there’s nowhere like Anfield,” Ian McCulloch from Echo And The Bunnymen recently said in a statement.“I can’t explain how unbelievably happy and proud I am that my band Echo And The Bunnymen are going to be opening up for The Rolling Stones, THE Greatest Rock & Roll band in the history of time, at Anfield, the Shrine of Life and football…“The Rolling Stones!!! And at Anfield!!! I feel honoured and blessed… Thank you God.”The Stones have a colourful history of performing at London’s Hyde Park.

The Rolling Stones have confirmed that Echo And The Bunnymen will support them during their gig at Anfield in Liverpool next month.The show will form part of the Stones’ ‘SIXTY’ UK and European anniversary tour, which kicks off in Madrid on June 1 and visits cities including London, Amsterdam and Paris.The Stones have announced this morning (May 17) that Echo And The Bunnymen, who hail from Liverpool, will support them at Anfield on June 9.

Echo And The Bunnymen co-founder Will Sergeant has announced a memoir, Bunnyman.The guitarist, 62, will detail “what it was really like to be part of one of the most influential and important British bands of the 1980s” with the forthcoming book, as per a press release.He’ll also look back on growing up in Liverpool during the 1960s and ’70s while recalling personal experiences of the city’s emerging punk scene, before his fortuitous meeting with Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch.Bunnyman: A Memoir is set to be released on July 15 via Constable/Little Brown.

Echo & The Bunnymen have announced a raft of new UK tour dates for 2021.The post punk band will be hitting the road for a 16 date jaunt to mark over 40 years since they released their debut album ‘Crocodiles’, starting at Sheffield City Hall on Friday, May 7, with a stop at London’s Roundhouse on May 12.Tickets go on sale Friday (June 26) at 9.30am.Speaking about the dates, frontman Ian McCulloch said: “Well then, here are the dates for our 2021 UK tour! I can’t wait to be out there with the band on all those stages in all those cities and towns, doing what I love most, playing our magical songs to our brilliant fans and, hopefully, making all our lives a little bit happier along the way.”Echo & The Bunnymen will play:Friday 7 May 2021 –
