All Creatures Great and Small stars would love to see Dr Who icon return to show
BBC series return to the show, as filming for series three gets underway. The critically acclaimed show, based on the popular series of books by James Alfred Wight, was rebooted in 2020 for Channel 5, and stars Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon and Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot, who work as vets in the Yorkshire Dales. The roles of Tristan and James were originally played in the BBC adaptation, which ran from 1978 to 1990, by Doctor Who star Peter Davison and Christopher Timothy respectively - and the cast of the Channel 5 series have now revealed that they would love to see the two actors return to the reboot in the future.Speaking at the BFI and Radio Times TV Festival, Callum Woodhouse said that the cast had previously received a sweet message from original James Herriot actor Christopher Timothy, praising the rebooted series. He said: "I think Christopher Timothy sent an email, I think, after the first Christmas special saying how much he loved it, which was really lovely."When asked if we could see Christopher and fellow co-star Peter Davison return to the series for a cameo however, the cast said they did not know, but it would be something they would like to see happen.“We don’t know any of that. It’s a question for production really, but we’d love it.
