We all know the adage: “With great power comes great responsibility.” But what happens when great power comes from a sentient alien symbiote with a murderous hive mind? That’s the central conceit of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the latest entry in the wildly popular video game series from Insomniac Games. When players first reunite with Peter Parker (Yuri Lowenthal) and Miles Morales (Nadji Jeter), the game wastes no time in throwing them directly into action through an epic, larger-than-life battle with Sandman.

Peter Parker and Miles Morales are back for a new web-slinging adventure in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac Games, out exclusively on PlayStation 5 on Oct. 20. Ahead of the release, Variety played roughly three hours of content during a special preview event in L.A., taking on several story missions and exploring the vast recreation of New York City.

Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 is set to release this October and we finally got a good look at Venom! In a recent interview Venom co-creator Todd McFarlane stated that he thinks that the design is in line with his own version of the villain. He described the design as looking “vicious” and praised Venom’s large stature and jagged teeth according to CBR.com. “They’re making him look kinda vicious,” McFarlane said.

Thanks to The Game Awards 10-Year Concert we now know who may become Venom in the upcoming Spider-Man 2 game. Insomniac’s Spider-Man series has teased Harry Osborn in both Spider-Man and Miles Morales. Harry is a very important character in the Spider-man franchise but he has not been present in the first two installments.

Marvel surprised fans on Friday with an exclusive first look at Spider-Man: Freshman Year, and a handful of their upcoming animated series, at a panel at Comic Con Friday, hosted by comedian Paul F. Tompkins, which included Marvel Studios head of streaming, television and animation Brad Minderbaum and head of visual development Ryan Meinerding and the creators of their upcoming animated series.

While fans are eagerly waiting on updates of the much-anticipated film Spider-Man 3, there is not much info out there at this time. But now, a Spider-Man alum recently opened up if he’d be making a comeback in the next film of the hit franchise.

There are many familiar faces returning for the upcoming Spider-Man 3, but Dane DeHaan‘s will not be one of them.
