Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, has shared his debut single under the name RVRND.This July will mark six years since the Linkin Park singer died following a battle with depression and, in the time since, his family have continued to honour his legacy. Now, one of his six children has decided to follow in his footsteps, and launched his own music career under the name RVRND.21-year-old Draven Bennington dropped his debut solo song ‘F_w_Me’, earlier this week (April 25) — a rap track that draws inspiration from classic ‘90s hip-hop.

For the second time since his July 2017 death, Chester Bennington is back in the top 10 of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart.Grey Daze, the band Bennington fronted before his breakthrough with Linkin Park, rises 11-10 on the Mainstream Rock Songs list dated March 28 with "Sickness," the lead single from a new album from the Phoenix group featuring songs recorded while Bennington was still a member before his 1998 departure.With the song, Grey Daze earns its first top 10 on a Billboard chart; the band did not chart during its original run.Bennington also reached Mainstream Rock Songs' top 10 after his passing via a featured appearance on Mark Morton's "Cross Off," which hit No. 7 in April 2019.

Linkin Park, there was Grey Daze. Helmed by the same frontman, the late Chester Bennington, the former’s gigantic 2000 debut ‘Hybrid Theory’ remains one of the best-selling albums of all time and sparked a rock revolution.

The call wasn’t a surprise. After all, since their breakup, drummer Sean Dowdell had remained friends and business partners with Chester Bennington, with whom he had founded Grey Daze in 1993.

Linkin Park, he made music with young upstarts Grey Daze. Joining when he was just 15, the grunge-leaning band released two albums together (1994’s ‘Wake/Me’ and ‘…No Sun Today’ in 1997) while playing sold-out club shows across their home state of Arizona.However after seven years together, they broke up in 1998 for a variety of unsurprising reasons – family, friction, fatigue – and went their separate ways.

Grey Daze in 1993.Since the Phoenix-area favourites broke up in the late ’90s, Dowdell and Bennington had stayed in contact and opened Club Tattoo, a tattoo and piercing parlour with locations in Las Vegas and Arizona.But in late 2016, Bennington was ringing up his long-time pal to ask how he felt about resurrecting the band of their youth.“It was one of our normal phone calls and we started talking about throwing a Club Tattoo anniversary party. Then he said, ‘When we do it, we should put Grey Daze back together,’ ” Dowdell recalls in a phone interview from Phoenix.Before he joined Linkin Park in 1999, Bennington, who committed suicide in July 2017, fronted the grunge metal band alongside Dowdell.
