EXCLUSIVE: Netflix is developing a limited series adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic novel East of Eden with Zoe Kazan writing and exec producing and Florence Pugh attached to star and co-produce.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter The “East of Eden” limited series adaptation at Netflix is rounding out its cast. Variety has learned that Tracy Letts (“Saturday Night,” “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty”), Martha Plimpton (“The Regime,” “Mass”), Ciarán Hinds (“Belfast,” “Game of Thrones”), Joseph Zada (“We Were Liars,” “Invisible Boys”), and Joe Anders (“Bonus Track,” “I Am Ruth”) have all joined the series. They will appear alongside previously announced cast members Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, and Hoon Lee.

Netflix has rounded out the main cast of its limited series East Of Eden, starring and executive produced by Florence Pugh and written and executive produced by Zoe Kazdan.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter Netflix has ordered the limited series adaptation of “East of Eden” from writer Zoe Kazan, Variety has learned. The series was originally reported to be in development at the streamer in June 2022 with Florence Pugh attached to star as Cathy. Now, Christopher Abbott is set to play Adam, with Mike Faist as Charles and Hoon Lee as Lee.

Jennifer Lawrence made her return earlier this year with Netflix film No Hard Feelings, and has a host of new projects upcoming.Directed by Gene Stupnitsky (Jury Duty), the raunchy comedy follows 32-year-old Uber driver Maddie (Lawrence) who answers an advert to date a shy 19-year-old called Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) in order to boost his confidence before college.Upon its release, the age gap between Lawrence and Feldman’s characters was criticised by some, but the movie went on to top the Netflix film charts for 2023.A synopsis for the film reads: “On the brink of losing her childhood home, Maddie discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to ‘date’ their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, before he leaves for college.“To her surprise, Maddie soon discovers the awkward Percy is no sure thing.”Following the release of the film, we’ve compiled every future project Lawrence is attached to, and what is coming next for the actor.Following the release of No Hard Feelings, Lawrence has multiple upcoming projects with her name attached.First is Burial Rites, the new film from director Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name) which was announced in 2017.
