Griff has spoken to NME about collaborating with Coldplay‘s Chris Martin, and how opening for Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium will be “one of the most surreal things in my career”.The singer-songwriter was talking to NME backstage at BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend, where she spoke of how much she was looking forward to the Eras Tour stop in the capital on June 22.“Eight-year-old me who had ‘Fearless’ on repeat wouldn’t believe this,” she said. “I’m unbelievably grateful to Taylor for all the love she’s shown me and my music.”It comes after Swift posted about Griff’s track ‘Vertigo’ on her Instagram last year.“That was very surreal,” Griff told NME.

Griff has announced the details of her debut album ‘Vertigo’ and has shared that this LP is “the full story”.The Brits Rising star winner announced that ‘Vertigo’ is set for release on July 19 via Warner (pre-order / pre-save the album here). The LP will consist of 19 tracks including her recently released single ‘Miss Me Too’. To tease the tracklist, Griff shared a photo of herself in a massive white dress on her Instagram, with the song titles printed on the train of the garment.

Self Esteem has dropped the sonic new cover of Jimmy Cliff’s ‘You Can Get It If You Really Want’, shared as part of the This Town soundtrack. Check it out below.The song was shared by the Sheffield singer as part of the new BBC series which aired over the Easter weekend, and takes place in the ’80s UK, amid the two-tone ska revival.Originally released back in 1995, the song was first shared by Jimmy Cliff as part of his album ‘Many Rivers To Cross’.“Persecution you must fear/ Win or lose you got to get your share/ You’ve got your mind set on a dream/ You can get it though hard it may seem now,” Self Esteem, real name Rebecca Lucy Taylor sings in the verse, putting a modern, dance spin on the original track.Check out both the original and the new Self Esteem cover below.The first two episodes of This Town aired over Easter weekend, with Self Esteem’s reimagining of ‘You Can Get It If You Really Want’ being played from the soundtrack, as well as Ray Laurél’s new version of ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’.The series “celebrates a thrilling evolution of sound, spirit and UK culture” and is set against the melting-pot scene of the Midlands in the 1980s.

Adele will perform at the BRIT Awards 2022 on Tuesday February 8.

The nominations for one of the most prestigious honours for the music industry, Brit awards 2021 were recently announced and there have been some big surprises and some historical nominations this year. The Brit awards are all set to be held on May 11, 2021, and before that, the nominations for the awards were made in a live-streamed show by BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw and this year’s BRITs Rising Star winner Griff.
