Belift Lab denied the allegations in a statement last month.“While ADOR has taken a cautious approach to avoid unnecessary disputes that could escalate into controversies for our artist, we now feel compelled to clarify our position as the matter remains unresolved,” said the label per Korea Times.“Belift Lab’s claims differ completely from Hanni’s account,” it continued, adding that it was “unfair” and “unnecessarily harsh” to expect the singer to recount the incident in detail.

Belift Lab, the K-pop agency behind K-pop girl group ILLIT, has reportedly sued Min Hee-jin, the CEO of NewJeans‘ agency ADOR. Both companies are subsidiaries of entertainment giant HYBE.According to news reports by Yonhap News Agency and Korea JoongAng Daily, Belift Lab filed a defamation complaint against ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin for claiming that ILLIT had plagiarised the Min-produced girl group NewJeans.“We filed a complaint against CEO Min for making false claims unilaterally against our company and artists and causing damage,” Belift Lab said in a statement.

The group were departing from Changi Airport after performing in Singapore on January 20 and 21, as part of their ongoing world tour.Local police told The Straits Times that she was arrested in violation of Singapore’s Infrastructure Protection Act 2017, which bars people from entering protected places in the airport with no intention of leaving the country.
