Talk of a Whitney Houston movie has been in the air ever since her tragic and untimley death in 2012. This December the long-awaited movie arrives and there's a trailer to stoke anticipation.

Naomi Ackie is giving fans a look at «the Whitney you never knew» in the upcoming Whitney Houston biopic, The Star Wars actress is embodying the late diva in the film, due out this December, and fans got a first look at her portrayal of the legendary vocalist when the first trailer dropped on Thursday.The trailer begins with Whitney's origins as a New Jersey choir girl, who steps on stage for her mother, Cissy (Tamara Tunie), one night when legendary record exec Clive Davis (Stanley Tucci) is in the audience. The novel is described as a high concept thriller. McCarten will then adapt and produce the novel for the screen.“Going Zero” certainly sounds of the moment.

The Collaboration, Anthony McCarten’s hit London play about artists Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, will make its American premiere on Broadway this winter, with Paul Bettany and Jeremy Pope as the two painters.

The imprint will target manuscripts with the goal of finding projects potential for film and TV content.“This is a marriage made in heaven,” said Rhonda Hughes, the publisher at Hawthorne.The company, which is headquartered in Portland, Ore., has optioned several projects in the past.

Netflix is in early development on a scripted series inspired by the rock band U2, sources close to the project confirmed to Deadline. It hails from J.J. Abrams and his Bad Robot Productions, and Warner Bros. TV, where Bad Robot is under a deal. Oscar-nominated screenwriter Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody) is attached to pen the series.
