Dermott, a prominent Catholic priest based in County Durham, sadly died at the age of 55 in July 2022, after he unexpectedly collapsed.

However, the month also saw some happiness as Declan, 46, announced that he and wife Ali Astall had welcomed their second child together and named him Jack Anthony Alphonsus. He took to Instagram the day after baby Jack’s arrival to share a sweet picture of the newborn holding his dad’s finger and wrote: “Shortly before 10am yesterday, 23.7.2022, Ali and I welcomed the arrival of our son, Jack Anthony Alphonsus, a very welcome ray of light.
