Pep Guardiola insists Manchester City will one day snap their European hoodoo as their Champions League journey was ended by Lyon.
Two late goals from Moussa Dembele helped the French side secure a shock 3-1 win and advance to the semi-finals. City paid the price for a lacklustre first-half but were more like themselves in the second period and can feel aggrieved they didn't go on and win.
Their defeat can be attributed to a hugely contentious refereeing decision and a shocking miss from Raheem Sterling when the game was still in the balance.
It means that Guardiola has still not taken City past the quarter final stages, but he was adamant that they will eventually crack the European scene. "One day we will break this gap," he told BT
