Pep Guardiola said he 'completely understood' the reaction from his players to a refereeing error that Manchester City remain in the dark over.
In the final minutes of their 3-3 draw with Tottenham, Erling Haaland was fouled by Emerson Royal but got back to his feet and chipped the ball over the backline for Jack Grealish to run onto, only for referee Simon Hooper to blow the whistle for the earlier free-kick.
There has been speculation over why Hooper did what he did, but nobody knows why because there has been no public explanation and nobody has spoken to City to explain what went on or apologise.
City, meanwhile, have been charged with failing to control their players over the incident after a number of them furiously protested with Hooper.
