A new survey from Citizens Advice Scotland has found that more than one in three people are finding their energy bills unaffordable with 80 per cent stating rising fuel costs as the main reason.
A further 65 per cent said the rising cost of living was an issue while 40 per cent said low incomes were an underlying problem and just under a quarter (24%) said their home being hard to heat was a major contributing factor.
The survey of 1,011 adults was conducted by YouGov for Citizens Advice Scotland in mid-November ahead of the launch of its Big Energy Saving Winter campaign, aimed at encouraging people to get advice to tackle rising fuel bills.
