People have been forced to evacuate their homes in the middle of the night amid ferocious flooding that swamped roads and fields.
Rains hammered down onto large stretches of the west coast of the UK and the Midlands for much of yesterday. Some parts of the country, such as Cornwall and south Wales, received as much as 16mm of rain an hour through Friday until the early hours of this morning.
The torrential downpours proved to have destructive results in Notter Bridge, Cornwall where eighteen people had to be evacuated from their caravans, Cornwall Live reported.
Crews from the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene in the early hours after water breached flood defences.
