Pensioner seriously injured after being hit by van in Orkney

A pensioner has been left with 'serious injuries' after she was hit by a van in Orkney. The 84-year-old pedestrian was taken to Balfour Hospital for treatment following the incident that happened around 4.30pm on Friday, November 25, on Junction Road in Kirkwall.

The male driver of the Volkswagen Transporter van involved in the collision was uninjured. An investigation into the incident is ongoing, carried out by officers from the Highland & Islands Road Policing Unit.
