Pensioner died after choking on steak sandwich at village pub

A 73-year-old biker sadly died after he choked on a steak sandwich he was eating at a North Wales pub. Graham Douglas, from Wirral, had been on a ride-along across the region with fellow bikers when he stopped for a meal at the Dinorben Arms in Bodfari, Denbighshire.

During the tragic incident customers and staff desperately tried to help Mr Douglas while they waited for paramedics to arrive. The retired instrument technician, known as 'Chunky', died at Arrowe Park Hospital four days later, on November 14, 2021 North Wales Live reports.

An inquest in Ruthin heard that Mr Douglas, of Summertrees Road, Great Sutton was with 15 members of the Wirral branch of the Triumph Owners Club on the day In a statement read at the inquest one of the group, Colin Robertson said that Mr Douglas had just started eating his steak sandwich when he suddenly started to choke.
