A pensioner was allegedly attacked with a weapon by a group of thugs in East Kilbride after trying to defend a woman who had been assaulted.Cops have launched a probe after a serious assault took place in the early hours of Tuesday, October 12.
At around 2.55am a large group of people were causing a disturbance at the underpass in Telford Road.Police say a local 57-year-old woman had came out of her home to ask the crowd to keep the noise down and was assaulted.A 68-year-old man came to her rescue after witnessing the incident but the thugs allegedly pounced on him 'with a weapon'.The emergency services were called to the scene and the crowd dispersed.
