Wearing a red fleece and jeans, Doug managed to temporarily halt the gig when he fell over the barrier and hit his head. His antics saw front man Brandon Flowers rush over to check he was okay before giving him a hug.

Interviewed by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on Tuesday’s This Morning, the retired engineer remained on brand in a Killers T-shirt as he recalled the ‘amazing’ feeling of crowd surfing.

Confessing that he thought he was going to get kicked out, he recalled: ‘When I came on the other side of the barriers, I thought I was going to be I trouble, I thought: “Oh no, there’s me going to be expelled, kicked out. ”’As he turned to thank the crowd for giving him the experience though, he missed Mr Brightside singer Flowers jumping off the stage to check on him. ‘I just turned round and her was there!’ he said.
