HBO Max is canceling the Batman spin-off series Pennyworth after it aired its third season, the streaming service announced on Wednesday.The move comes as the streamer, which is backed by Warner Bros.
Discovery, has moved to end all of it's live-action DC Comics shows.Pennyworth: The Origin Of Batman's Butler wrapped up its third season back in November 2022.
The show focused on Bruce Wayne/Batman's butler Alfred, who helped raise him after his parents were killed.Jack Bannon starred as the eponymous character, who was seen years before his connection to the Wayne's when he was a member of the British Special Air Service.Pennyworth was specifically a prequel to the television series Gotham, a prequel to the Batman films that aired on Fox for five seasons, ending in 2019.
