Celtic have reportedly agreed a fee with Benfica to bring Paulo Bernardo back to the club this summer. Playmaker Bernardo spent last season on loan and showed his class at times - stepping up to the plate mid-season when Reo Hatate and Callum McGregor were out injured.
He also came off the bench to help down Rangers in the Scottish Cup final. There was an option to buy in the region of £6million in his loan agreement with Record Sport revealing that Benfica had been keen to stick to that figure for for the 22-year-old.
However, the Scottish Premiership champions had been looking to negotiate the fee down to around £4million. Portuguese outlet Mais Futebol now claim that a fee in the region of £4.2million has now been agreed between the two clubs.
Despite the offer being on the table, it looks like there will still be hurdles to clear to bring Bernardo back to the club.
