Bristol City boss Liam Manning has confessed that "bits are going on" behind the scenes over the future of Tommy Conway amid interest from Celtic. Record Sport previously revealed the the Scotland cap was on the Scottish Premiership champions radar as he prepared to run down the 12 months of his contract at Ashton Gate - but City have attempted to move up the 21-year-old's exit plan and cash in on him this summer.

Conway has been dropped to City's Under-21s after turning down a new contract offer at the club and could move on. Conway - who scored 12 goals last term to earn a spot in Steve Clarke's Euro 2024 squad - has played no part in the Robins' pre-season friendlies so far.

And Bristol City head coach Manning appeared to hint that an exit was the most likely resolution. Asked by the Bristol Post on any movement on the forward's situation, he said: "Not at the minute. "Tommy's coming in every day, working hard and doing what he needs to do.

The staff are looking after him. There are bits going on behind the scenes but nothing is done as of yet so nothing at the moment." Michel-Ange Balikwisha is also on the Celtic shopping list having caught the eye at Royal Antwerp.
